How our Italian Tutoring works
For most young people, Italian is a language they will not encounter properly until secondary school. With this being the case in most places, there is increased time pressure and this can create an urge to rush through the basics. However, we refuse to do that. We will start with the absolute building blocks of the language and try to give our students a greater understanding of Italy as a country and the Italians as people. It is from these basic understandings that we can begin to build the language up.
Basic verbs and nouns will be covered but we will do our best not to overload them with word after word. Getting this balance right is important and because of this, we will base our teachings off of the current topics in the child’s school. This allows us to support the child and the school instead of confusing them with two different topics happening at the same time.
If we are teaching a young person who is not studying Italian at school and who purely wants to learn the spoken language, this is perfectly fine as well. We will go through all the commonly used vocabulary and let the student work at their pace through the language. Some people understand languages easier than others who may struggle and we are here for every child on that sliding scale.
When it comes to the exams, we can support your child there too! Our Italian tutoring sessions include speaking exam practice as well as support in other areas at their own request. Reading, writing and listening tips and practice are all available in our sessions so be sure to take every chance to improve your ‘italiano’ with our help.
